Молодую королеву срочно нужно выдать замуж. Ибо дура и нужен наследник. Но вот беда: она хочет взамуж за своего сердечного друга Роберта Дадли. А он женат и вообще гумозина.
В основном про личную жизнь, про правление мало. Энн-Мари Дафф очень страшная и очень убедительная (кто сказал, что Елизавета была красоткой?) Томичка Харди, ради которого все затевалось, просто огнище с этой своей похабной мордой, хитрым взглядом и глумливой ухмылкой. Тюдоровские шмотки смотрятся на нем невероятно органично, а уж серьга в ухе просто грррр!!! Есть эпизодический МакКид.
Снимали все это в исторических локациях, куче старинных особняков и замков. Музыка написана специально для сериала и крута невероятно. Сериал получил Бафту за лучший дизайн костюмов.
