Главный герой, Филипп, – сирота, его вырастил его кузен, Эмброуз. Тот всю жизнь был к теткам довольно равнодушен, но поехал поправить здоровье в Италию и женился на некой Рейчел. А потом возьми и скоропостижно умри. Его письма пропитаны подозрениями относительно жены, так что Филипп заранее очень предубежден против своей новой родственницы.
Но увидев Рейчел, быстро теряет голову, вплоть до того, что готов отдать ей все, что имеет (еще бы, это ж Рейчел Вайз). Хотя подозрения продолжают его мучить. И чем дальше, тем хуже.
Клафлин, считаю, отыграл драму на все деньги (и вообще душка), Вайз – рррроковая, Холидей Грейнджер – румяная душка, как всегда, а сир Жора в фильме для красоты. Ещё там для красоты дивные пейзажИ.
