Яков 1, ставший королем после Елизаветы 1, поддерживал протестантов, а католикам натурально настал капец. Роберт Кейтсби был одним из таких католиков, мелким провинциальным аристократом. Его сестру и брата казнили самым изуверским способом. А Роберт так взбесился, что решил всех взорвать и вернуть на трон католических королей. Соратники немедленно сыскались, а среди них Гай Фокс. Было решено с помощью пороха взорвать короля и парламент. Но что-то пошло не так.
Буквально с первых минут сериал буквально ошеломляет жестокостью сцен пыток и казней. АААА, тётку раздавили!!! Никакой романтики, красоты и платьечков, сплошные ужасы. Выглядит очень аутентично, считается, что степень исторической достоверности высока, но смотреть действительно тяжело. Зато унылый Кит Харингтон, получив от режиссера пару ударов шокером, сбросил с себя личину Джона Сноу и заиграл. Ещё в сериале есть страшненькая и почти неузнаваемая Лив Тайлер.
