Несколько лет назад я прочитала роман Курбана Саида “Али и Нино”, который поразил меня в самую пятку. Такого писателя не существует, потому об авторстве книги, изданной в 1937 году в Вене на немецком, до сих пор спорят. В Батуми есть памятник Али и Нино, но о нем, как и о книге, везде почему-то пишут в каком-то странном ключе, едва ли не как о истории Ромео и Джульетты, хотя суть истории вовсе не в этом. Буквально на днях я с восторгом узнала о том, что есть фильм совместного производства Азербайджана и Великобритании, с интернациональным актерским составом. Критики фильм традицинно обосрали, а зрители с ними здесь не совпали, как и я. Фильм от книги немного отличается, но не слишком.
События начинают разворачиваться незадолго до начала Первой Мировой, в Баку. Али хан Ширваншир – представитель знатного азербайджанского рода, мусульманин. Нино Кипиани – грузинская княжна, христианка. В Баку того времени мусульмане и христиане вполне мирно уживаются между собой. Родители обоих морщат попки, но не слишком сильно. Тем временем на горизонте сгущаются тучи, начинается война, и Али, как и многие другие не вполне понимает, почему он должен сражаться на стороне царской России.
В фильме по сравнению с книгой добавили немного драматического элемента и препятствий на пути влюбленных, но в целом суть осталась та же: история любви, но ни в коем случае не клишированная мелодрама, на фоне исторических событий. История мира, которого больше нет. Съемки хороши необыкновенно: как интерьеры и наряды, так и потрясающей красоты горные пейзажи. Нино играет итальянка Мария Вальверде, а Али – израильский актер Адам Бакри, оба прекрасно вписались в образы. Еще в фильме есть Мэнди Патинкин, Конни Нильсен, Рикардо Скамарчио и даже целый Халит Эргенч.
