Хотя фильм больше выглядит, как чуть менее надрывный римейк королевы Марго: все грязные, лохматые, орут, дерутся, бегают в исподнем, бухают и трахаются.
Далее все по канону: Марго выпихивают замуж за Генриха и, пользуясь случаем, выпиливают протестантов чохом. Ла Моля в этой версии показали мельком, и вообще на душевных терзаниях Марго не останавливались.
Актриса, конечно, до Аджани не дотягивает, Екатерина Медичи менее зловеща, чем в Марго, зато Генрих – менее противный. Фильм состоит из двух частей: вторая – это борьба за трон, когда Валуа внезапно закончились. Трое из сыновей Генриха II успели побыть королями (дежавю какоито времен Капетингов), но по салическому закону тетки не могли наследовать. Big mistake (с)
