Это сериал-антология, каждый сезон – отдельное дело, которое ведет детектив-бдсмщик. Его играет Билл Пулман, что само по себе уже занятно, поскольку отрешиться от его хитрой рожи и прежних комедийных ролей довольно тяжело.
В завязке 1 сезона семейная пара приезжает с маленьким ребёнком на пляж, рядом парочка обжимается и слушает музыку, внезапно молодую мать клинит и она убивает незнакомого мужика, который обжимался.
Зачем, почему – тётка в прострации. Притом такой, что признает свою вину и не брыкается. Убитого мужика она знать не знает.
Но детективу, который расследует дело, что-то не даёт покоя. Он выясняет, что песня сработала, как триггер. А ещё у тётки странный двухмесячный провал в памяти (ещё до встречи с мужем), её мучают кошмары, она всегда просыпается около трех ночи с криками.
Закручено очень интересно, все перемежается флэшбэками из детства и юности тётки, которую воспитывала мать-фанатичка.
Муж тетки вызывает сильнейшее желание убить его оглоблей с особой жестокостью. Джессика Бил, оказывается, умеет играть, ее даже номинировали на Золотой Глобус и Эмми.
Предполагалось, что первым сезоном все и ограничится, но зрителям сериал зашел, к тому же есть литературный первоисточник, книги
Петры Хаммесфар (она немка, это многое объясняет). Второй сезон получился не слишком удачным, посмотрим, что наснимают в третьем.
В третьем сезоне Пулман опять сыграет детектива в кожаных трусах, а Бомер – персонажа по имени Джейми, которому требуется поддержка детектива в связи с трагической дорожной аварией.
