Подождав, чтобы книга хоть немного подзабылась, я всосала и сериал, который получился даже лучше книги, потому что в нем практически отсутствуют отрывки “великого романа”, которые немного портят ощущения от книги.
Великий писатель Гарри Квеберт живет в конской жопе мира вот уже 30 лет. Молодой писатель, его друг и ученик, мучаясь от творческого запора, приезжает навестить Гарри и получить пару советов. Вскоре после его отъезда во дворе Гарри находят закопанное тело: это 15-летняя девочка, которая пропала много лет назад и с которой у Гарри были какие-то непонятные отношения. Молодой ломится помочь Гарри, а заодно обзаводится идеей для книги. Но вот местные нифига не рады тому говнищу, которое немедленно начинает лезть на свет божий.
Сериал снял Жан-Жак Анно, так что это получилось очень нежно, трогательно, красиво и аккуратно (переживала, чтоб не испортили какой-то похабщиной). Детектив густо замешан на драме, настоящее перемежается с флэшбэками из прошлого, раскрывающими произошедшее. Сюжет закручен так же здорово, как и в книге, сбивая зрителя с толку несколько раз.
Доктор Секси, сиречь Патрик Демпси, хорошо смотрится в роли Гарри, а юное дарование Кристин Фоссет дивно прекрасна в роли Нолы, погибшей девушки. Отклеиться невозможно, но сериал очень грустный.
