Однажды мать Киа, уставшая от грубости и пьянства ее отца, бросает семью, а затем разбредаются и все остальные. Кроме Киа, привязанной к своему любимому болоту.
Звучит, конечно, как завязка какой-то чернухи, но нет, книга не вызывает желания удавиться, хотя местами она и очень грустная. Но по этом ужасно увлекательная, потому что в ней есть детективный элемент. А уж природа описана так, будто видишь все своими глазами. Хочется теперь посмотреть сериал “Внешние отмели”, хотя там и другой сюжет.
