В какой-то момент плюнула на обоих. Но тут теледеятели решили снять сериал по роману Кинга “Противостояние”, про коросту, а мироздание подсуетило ковидлу. Звёзды встали пендераком, и я решила, что это знак.
Короста в романе Кинга рукотворная (привет, приверженцы конспирологических теорий о ковидле) и распространяется с космической скоростью всеми способами сразу (привет, все современные эпидемиологи, призывающие не облизывать дверные ручки и носить маски). Пока правительство США жуёт сопли, все быстро мрут за исключением буквально одного процента населения, у которого иммунитет. Выжившие начинают видеть странные сны: в одних их зовет к себе добрая старая женщина, в других до усрачки пугает некий темный человек. Им предстоит определиться к умным им или к красивым.
Книга страшная, но не так, как, скажем, Сияние или Кладбище домашних животных, а именно нарисованной эпической картиной уничтожения цивилизации (зато природа мля очистилась) Это сделано мастерски и, как всегда у Кинга, противно и физиологично. Я точно отлично бы обошлась без многих подробностей. Очень много жестокости, просто через край. Да, читать очень интересно, но главное желание, чтобы это поскорее закончилось. К концу меня, как обычно, обуяло странное желание, чтобы козло победило. Правда, у бобра была собачка. Перечитывать – упаси бог. Кстати, Кинг и его сыночка самолично писали сценарий и переписали финал, так что ожидаем ещё большего кошмара (помните фильм Мгла?)
Поскольку читала я, зная о составе сериала, то сразу прикинула на кого как ложится книжный образ. Здесь, конечно, много внешних расхождений. Но, несмотря на это, Ларри подошёл идеально, а Надин никак не, равно как и Ллойд, поскольку я видела этого чувака только в положительных ролях. Стью, Глен, Флэгг, Фрэнни, Мусорный бак и Матушка – идеально.
