Жил-был такой агент ФБР, Джон Дуглас. Он был очень заколупистый парень, он первым понял, что с серийными убийцами главное сначала понять, не кто, а почему. Тогда можно будет узнать – кто. ФБР и полицию того времени вопрос почему не интересовал. Потому с серийными убийцами они заходили в тупик. 35% убийств не раскрывались. Но Дуглас первый додумался брать интервью у уже сидящих серийных убийц и разработал новую методику. С него началась профессия профайлера. С него и списан главный герой сериала. А его напарник – с Роберта Ресслера, который придумал сам термин “серийный убийца”.
В сериале эти двое буквально блуждают в потьмах. Они сами ещё не знают, чего добиваются, но понимают, что с серийными убийцами не работает обычный подход. Начальство считает все это дурью и отбивается.
В сериале очень мало экшена. Нет кровищи и растерзанных тел, только фото и то мельком. Это сплошная говорильня. Но от нее волосы натурально становятся дыбом. И эта говорильня безумно интересна, ведь всего, о чем мы уже знаем, тогда ещё не существовало.
В сериале нет растерзанных трупов, кровищи и художественной расчлененки, как,скажем, в Ганнибале. Но это не значит, что смотреть его – не страшно.
