Я его не смотрела, но книга однозначно рекомендуется тем, кто любит Барселону или собирается туда податься. Копирую свою рецензию.
XIV век, время нелегкое, а для теток и подавно. С первых же страниц автор заходит с козырей. Молодой сын богатого крестьянина женится. И тут сразу право первой ночи феодала, потом изнасилование собственным мужем, потеря земель, бегство в Барселону – свободный город. Короче, жестяк с первых страниц. Дальше повествуется о жизни мальчика, появившегося на свет в результате изнасилования, и жизнь у него будет такая же тяжёлая, как и ее начало. Одно утешение – ходить смотреть на строительство Санта Мария дель Мар.
С точки зрения исторических реалий написано интересно и подробно, а оттого очень страшно. Тут и наказание для неверных жён (это особенный трэш), и рабство, и непосильные для крестьян феодальные порядки, и ремесленные гильдии, и самоуправление города, и жизнь еврейского квартала, в общем, интересного много. Но с точки зрения характеров персонажей и взаимоотношений – автор немного плавает.
Церковь, кстати, цела. Я там была в марте, стоял жуткий холод, выпал снег, а внутри было тепло и играл орган.
