Героиня сериала “В темноте” (In the dark) 2017 года, производства Великобритании, очень похожа на Ребекку Мартинссон: у нее тоже тяжелое прошлое, детская травма, тараканы в голове, запутанная личная жизнь и сложные отношения с отцом. И ей тоже приходится вернуться в родной город по очень неприятному поводу.
Хелен, в отличие от Ребекки, детектив. Она более собрана, но и ее по возвращении в родной гродок начинает грести тяжелыми воспоминаниями. А новое дело, из-за которого ей пришлось приехать, оказывается для Хелен триггерным – это похищение двух девочек-подростков. С самой Хелен и ее близкой подругой примерно в том же возрасте произошло что-то очень плохое. Хелен выросла и сбежала. А подруга осталась. И теперь ее мужа подозревают в похищении, ведь все улики указывают на него. Очень некстати Хелен узнает о своей беременности. Мало того, что она незапланирована, так еще и ребенок неизвестно от кого.
Всего 4 серии, действие развивается стремительно и завязано на самой Хелен. Героиня, несмотря на полный бардак в личной жизни, вызывает восхищение: под конец сериала у нее уже гигантское пузо, что не мешает ей носиться, как турбодизель, и раздавать мощных люлей направо и налево. За финал создателям хочется то ли пожать руку, то ли тоже дать люлей, еще не решила.
