И вот странная парочка катит по Америке, взаимно влияя друг на друга: к Тони прилипает немного культурки, а к Дону – умения наслаждаться жизнью.
Неизбежно, они сталкиваются со множеством неприятных ситуаций: от невинной, когда путают их роли, до неприятной, когда Дон не может поужинать в ресторане, где будет играть.
Серьезное кино тоже может быть теплым, ламповым и добрым. Подсознательно ждешь какой-то трагедии или резкого поворота сюжета, но его не будет. Это не значит, что фильм скучно смотреть, как раз наоборот, хотя его вполне можно назвать камерным – большую часть на экране только двое.
Вигго Мортенсен тут выглядит непривычно: пузатый рубаха-парень, но вскоре к его новому образу привыкаешь. Махершала Али поражает в самую пятку: утонченный, строгий, чопорный, будто кол проглотил, он совершенно заслужил свой Золотой Глобус.
