Первая поездка за границу у меня была очень банальная — в Египет. Но вместе с тем это была сбыча мечт.
В детстве у меня было полно книжек о Египте, в библиотеке я тоже их выкапывала, обожала «Уарду» Георга Эберса (там еще и асисяй) и «Клеопатру» Хаггарда.
И, конечно, мы с подругой поехали смотреть пирамиды и археологический музей. От какого-то количества людей я слышала отзывы про разочарование «грудой камней», но я-то все знала! И о сложности постройки, об ориентации в пространстве и пропорциях, о внутренних камерах и загадочных вентиляционных шахтах. Но реальность превзошла все ожидания. Подумать только, чтобы обойти большую пирамиду, нужно пройти около километра!
На входе (пичаль) нужно было сдать фотоаппарат (смартфонов еще не было). А внутри был ужас: сначала идти согнувшись по прорубленному арабами проходу, а дальше карабкаться в большую галерею. Вишенка на торте: в пирамиде не было ни одной живой души. Из нашего автобуса никто не пошел.
В большой галерее меня заштырило окончательно: каким-то образом там достигается оптическая иллюзия, делающая верх и низ неразличимыми. В общем, села я на пол и постаралась не блевануть. А подруга пошла в камеру царя, где не было света. Через пару минут, бледная лицом, она примчалась обратно — внутри кто-то бухтел. В ужасе мы ломанулись к выходу, встретив наконец двух туристов. На выходе выяснилось, что бормотали японцы. Что они там в темноте делали — хз.
Мы съездили в Луксор, покатались по Нилу, позырили храм Хатшепсут (ну точно архитектор мавзолея Ататюрка в Анкаре его видел) и посетили долину Царей, где вспотела уже даже я. Мы тоннами скупали дурацкие сувениры и папирусы, они все еще живы, кстати, только Анубису Зязя отъела ухо.
Но не меньше всех камней меня вштырил сам отдых в отеле. И пофиг, что еда там (кроме морковного сока) была довольно унылая. Но на фоне Крыма и Закарптатья это было невероятно круто.
К сожалению, я не ныряю, так что рыбки прошли мимо меня.
В Египет мне больше не хочется. Есть еще много мест, которые я бы посмотрела, но не уверена, что смогу к ним попасть. Правда, в семье растет поклонник мумий и развалок, так что повторного Египта, наверное, не избежать.
