Фильм снят по роману Брюса Кэмерона, того гада, который написал “Жизнь и цель собаки” (рыдала рыдма). В этом фильме все не так рыдательно, но все равно Зязя и Пуся спрятались в спальне через две минуты после начала просмотра. Кстати, история собаки, которая снималась в фильме, тоже совершенно прекрасна!
Белла, смесь бульдога с носорогом, точнее питбуля не пойми с кем, родилась в какой-то заброшке, где выросла вместе с кучей котов. Однажды туда приехали волонтеры, и одному из них Белла так понравилась (щенооочек), что он решил оставить ее себе. Белла на новом месте прижилась, и даже устроилась на работу: хозяин и его мама стали брать ее в госпиталь для военных, где она помогала им проходить реабилитацию. Но конфликт с застройщиком той самой заброшки и службой отлова привел к тому, что Белла оказалась вдали от дома.
Собачка в этом фильме – настоящая собачка. Ее изловили на мусорке, после чего она жила в приюте, где ее и нашли специалисты по кастингу. Это приют, где собак не усыпляют. Шелби – смесь питбуля хз с кем, как и в книге. Кэмерон сам лично с ней познакомился и решил, что она подходит. После фильма ее взяла к себе тетка-кинолог, и теперь Шелби трудится собакой в центре для детей с расстройствами аутичного спектра.
Кино очень доброе, милое, без жестокости, полное любви к животным, с небольшой толикой пафоса в конце (добро же должно победить, ну) и парой грустных моментов, куда же без них. Ах да, в фильме есть Эшли Джадд, страшно милый Джона Хауэр-Кинг и зенненхунд.
