Ведьма/ The VVitch: A New-England Folktale – дебютный фильм Роберта Эггерса, который заставил критиков верещать от восторга. Зрители оценили кино не так высоко, хотя все равно бюджет фильма окупился в 10 (!) раз.
17 век. Бескрайние серо-коричневые дико унылые просторы Новой Англии. Невыносимо унылые же пуритане, бесконечно убивающиеся из-за собственных грехов, поселяются на опушке мрачного леса. Мать, отец и четверо детей, пятый на подходе. И козел. Черный и красивый. Рождается младенец, за ним присматривает старшая дочь, Томасин, развлекая его нехитрой игрой в ку-ку. Во время игры ребенок бесследно исчезает. Все начинают тыкать в друг друга пальцами, орать и молиться, но тут теряется в лесу второй по старшинству ребенок, что усиливает атмосферу безумия многократно.
Не знаю, что там с маленьким Робертом произошло в детстве, похоже, его тюкнул в голову домашний попугайчик (иначе это странное отношение к птицам не объяснить. И как это развидеть, аааа, в Маяке такой же мотив). Кино дико давящее, мрачное, не слишком пугающее, но атмосферное невероятно. Эггерс упоролся на реализме, даже снимал при свечах и дневном свете, чтобы сделать картинку реалистичной.
Аня Тейлор Джой все-таки невероятна абсолютно везде, где я ее видела, а здесь особенно. Остальные тоже хороши, даже дети играют на всю катушку. Козел тоже не зря ел свою морковку.
