В сериале “Последний король” милый и благородный Карл II протовостоит злому парламенту и ужасным людям, которые отрубили голову его папеньке. В сериале “Новые миры” (New Worlds) по приказу этого же человека людям вырывают кишки и фигурно развешивают их на деревьях, четвертуют и отрезают им части тела.
Краткий экскурс в историю. Католики и протестанты продолжают увлеченно вырывать друг другу печень. Католики ведут в счете, потому что Карл II к ним благоволит. Карл вошел в историю как “веселый король”, поскольку размахивал МПО направо и налево, наплодил 14 бастардов и признал их. Это привело к дичайшему срачу после его смерти, поскольку законных наследников он не оставил.
Но пока Карл еще жив, чмырит протестантов, распускает парламент, тиранничает, преследует недовольных и прижимает колонии в Массачусетсе. Массачусетс брыкается, отпихиваясь правой рукой от Карла, а левой – от индейцев. Это важно, потому что часть действия происходит там.
Где-то в британских кустах прячется сын борца с тиранией и сам борец с тиранией. Периодически он вылазит из кустов, чтобы пограбить богатых. Во время одной из вылазок он встречает прекрасную дочь местной графини, невинную белую лилию, и сообщает ей, что жизнь на самом деле говно. Девушка верит, происходит асисяй. Но вместо того, чтобы угомониться, борец с тиранией собирается убить короля.
Кровь, кишки, распидорасило (с) А также повесило и разорвало лошадьми. Мало асисяя, много кровищи и жестокости. Герои бегают туда-сюда через океан. Есть еще одна любовная линия, там тоже не вздохи на скамейке.
Джейми Дорнану надо играть всяких маньяков и идейных упырков, у него хорошо получается, особенно если предварительно обрастить его бородой и хорошенько испачкать. В сериале также есть Джо Демпси (даже не знаю, как ему страшнее – с волосами или без) и Элис Энглерт
