“Крэнфорд” (Cranford), 2007 год, 5 серий.
В городке Крэнфорд тон задаёт группка неюных дам с хорошим происхождением. Все они вдовы или старые девы и им до біса скучно. Но тут в городок приезжает молодой, симпатичный доктор, и некоторые дамы начинают питать надежды. Подлый доктор же втрескался в молодую дочь пастора.
Кроме этого, в городе ещё много чего происходит: местная леди ждёт сына, который никак не вернётся из Италии, собираются строить железную дорогу, управляющий леди решает помочь одаренному мальчику из бедной семьи. Жизнь так и кипит. А дамы чешут языками.
Бесили они меня меньше, чем в книге.
А так мимими и полное умиление. Смолл токи и прочие файв о клоки.
“Жены и дочери” (Wives and Daughters), 1999 год, BBC, 4 серии. Писала о нем тут
“Он так и знал” (He Knew He Was Right), 2004 год, 4 серии, сериял ВВС по роману Троллопа.
Некий Луис Тревельян приехал на Мандариновые острова и втрескался в дочь британского посла. Она красива и очень непосредственна. И стали они жить-поживать, в Лондоне уже, ребенка родили. Хотя человеку с такими бровями и выражением лица вообще не стоило размножаться.
В общем, жить бы да горя не знать, но тут молодому мужу попала вожжа под хвост: он приревновал жену к ее крестному, а по совместительству старому другу отца. Конечно, там ничего не было, но добрые люди уже напели истеричному мужу в уши и заверте. Сначала он выпер жену к матери своего друга-журналиста, потом к ее же дяде, потом стал угрожать отобрать сына.
Параллельно рассказывают историю о журналисте (он втрескался в сестру главной героини), историю сестры журналиста и историю викария в том приходе, где живет сестра журналиста.
Главное украшение сериала – это Теннант, который просто жжот семиметровым в роли викария. Биллу Найи особо развернуться негде. Есть еще милашка Мэттью Гуд, на него просто приятно смотреть. Лора Фрейзер очень красивая и все.
Очень бесилась все 4 серии из-за мужа-идиота. А персонажи бесились из-за дурных законов, по которым тетка и ее имущество принадлежали мужу, и даже на ребенка у тетки не было прав.
