После успеха свеженького “Звездный Путь: Дискавери” канал CBS All Access решил развить тему и снять еще один сериал. Оригинальный “Звездный Путь” стал культовым сериалом и до сих пор имеет массу поклонников. После его окончания была снята целая куча продолжений (включая свеженькую франшизу, где Кирка играет Крис Пайн, многократно проклятый фанатами вместе с еретическими фильмами и создавшим их Абрамсом).
Одно из этих продолжений называлось “Звездный Путь: Следующее поколение” о другом уже “Энтерпрайзе” (события происходят через 100 лет) под управлением Жан-Люка Пикара (его играл Патрик Стюарт). Новый сериал будет об этом Энтерпрайзе, и Патрик Стюарт уже в деле.
