Ее героиня, детектив-сержант Лиза Армстронг, блестящий специалист, но со своими тараканами (ну а как же, я ни на что другое и не рассчитывала). Ее специальзация – связи с семьями. Ее дело поддерживать семьи в трудных ситуациях, но также, общаясь с ними, выяснять и наблюдать за их поведением.
Ее новое дело – исчезновение близнецов в Ланкашире. Поначалу дело кажется ей заурядным, но чем больше она им занимается, тем больше понимает, что у нее есть с ним личная связь. Она давно решила для себя эмоционально не вовлекаться в работу, но с ужасом понимает, что в этом раз не получится.
Действие происходит в городке Моркам, там же и снимался сериал.
