Повествование начинается еще при жизни Пьеро Подагрика, сына Козимо, отца Лоренцо и Джулиано. Пацци злоумышляют, ШонБин мордат, слегка одутловат и очень зловещ, как и его окружение. Медичи оказались в тяжелой ситуации из-за займа Людовико Сфорца, миланского герцога, который он не хочет возвращать. Нужны деньги, где их взять? Лоренцо берет управление на себя, пока папо болеет. Джулиано – легко возбудимый долбодятел, который проводит время, общаясь с Ботичелли. На сцене появляется Симонетта Веспуччи,дивно красивая.
Чтобы раздобыть денег, нужно жениться: Лоренцо – на богатой римлянке, которая намылилась в монастырь, его сестре – выйти замуж за делового партнера Медичи, что совершенно не в тему, поскольку у нее асисяй с одним из Пацци. У Лоренцо тоже асисяй, с замужней теткой, но долг зовет.
Все опять очень красивые, с белыми зубами, и даже бедняки лишь слегка замурзаны. Даниэль Шарман, хотя и похож на Лоренцо, як свыня на коня, очень привлекателен, а работу мысли выражает заламыванием бровей. Нос у него, конечно, не такой рубильник, как у настоящего Лоренцо, но специалисты по кастингу верны себе: все должно быть красиво. Джулиано у Бредли Джеймса получился тоже не похожий, но красивый.
Из первого сезона есть только жена Козимо со слегка посеребренными волосами, из флэшбэков Лоренцо.
В общем, пока вполне мило.
