Куда он и въезжает с упомянутым младенцем и непонятной, но красивой теткой (няня?) Появление младенца окутывает Страшная Тайна. Откуда взялся младенец и кто его мать – составляет суть Страшной Тайны.
В поместье быстро начинает происходить движ: как снег на голову, сваливается мамо Бичема (прямиком из Англии, в шоке от Индии) с невероятно противной компаньонкой (собирается замуж за Бичема), властная индийская красавица, смахивающая на махарани и прибывшая со всей помпой, брат Бичема, по виду раздолбай, симпатичная соседка-англичанка. Настоящий цыганский табор.
Мамо и принцесса сшибаются за ребенка, брат принимается волочиться за его няней (?), повар задалбывается готовить ужасные английские блюда, а соседка уже жалеет, что зашла. На фоне семейного бардака Бичем пытается получить лицензию на торговлю в Дели, но для этого надо умаслить местного правителя.
Пока вышло две серии, и это совершенно прекрасно! Красиво, ужасно увлекательно и ужасно же интригующе. Явно намечаются асисяй и месилово.
Том Бейтман очень хорош и очень трагичен (он мне еще в “Ярмарке тщеславия” глянулся). Остальные актеры тоже колоритны, особенно Лесли Никол из “Даунтона”.
