Стэнли Кубрик – это чувак, чьи фильмы я обхожу десятой дорогой, причем не просто из предубеждения. Но с древним фильмом Барри Линдон/Barry Lyndon я дала маху, не посмотрев фамилию режиссера. Ну в самом деле, Кубрик и платтячки? Так что на титрах у меня сделался шок. А кино великолепное во всех смыслах.
Барри этот поначалу вовсе не Линдон, а какая-то мелкопоместная хрень, вожделеющая кузину. Но кузина присмотрела вариант поинтереснее, Барри послан в сад, расстроен и убил жениха. Приходится срочно валить из Ирландии и устраиваться как-то в жизни. Устроиться у Барри в принципе выходит хорошо, правда, окружающим от этого плохо.
Кино снималсь эпично: несколько лет, на натуре и в специально построенных декорациях, с дорогущим, тщательно созданным историческим шмотьем и интерьерами, с использованием натурального освещения и кучей всяких других заморочек, чтобы было настоящее погружение. С погружением все сложилось, кино вышло эпичное, но не убийственно серьезное, потому что закадровый голос все время этого Барри стебет (фильм снят по так называемому плутовскому роману Теккерея). Кино идет почти три часа, но визуально это такая красотища, что смотреть можно бесконечно, не зря же кино получило 4 Оскара.
